Activities for Kids

If you're coming to Miami Beach with your children on vacation, you may not yet have a game plan to keep them occupied while you are here.  Even though Miami Beach may not seem to be a great place for kids, don't fret, as there are lots of things to do in and around Miami Beach that were made just for kids, teenagers and adults who are young at heart.

One popular place to suggest that your kids will absolutely love, is Boomers in nearby Dania.  This place is loaded with liveliness.  Laser Tag, Go Carts, Arcade Games, Rock Climbing, Billiards.  Need we go on?

Forget about that windmill, there's the more challenging and fun Glow Minitature Golf.  It's located about 18 miles West of Miami Beach off of the Dolphin Expressway (Route 836).

Do your kids need to be cooled off?  If so, take them to the Grapeland Water Park or Venetian Pool. They'll have a splash at both places, and then some.

Another great way for your kids to beat the heat is to take them ice skating at the Scott Rakow Youth Center.

To educate and fascinate your children at the same time, there are quite a few places in the Miami area to take them.  Try the Miami Metrozoo and Miami Seaquarium to introduce them to the various creatures of the world.   The Miami Science Museum and Miami Children's Museum are also fun places that will fascinate your kids.

If your children have been asking to drive your car around, let them take the wheel of their own mini automobile (a Go Kart that is) at the Miami GP Raceway in Opa Locka.

If these ideas don't appeal to your children or if they already had a great time at some of them but are looking for more fun things to do, there are always the kid-friendly options of the area's BeachesMalls and Sporting Events.  You can even take them to the Miami Beach Public Library to occupy both their time and minds.

It's also worth noting that many of the hotels and resorts in the Miami Beach area have kids programs, so if you're planning a trip here, look into the activities that cater to children beforehand.

Whatever kind of fun your kids end up having, you'll have the piece of mind in knowing you kept them active, entertained and away from being bored.   We are sure you would agree that in itself is a major parental accomplishment!
